For this
production, I shepherded 42 kids between the ages of 7 and 14
through the process of creating their own costume designs.
After several exercises and discussions about what the
characters were like, I provided them with a list of the
costumes we needed and asked them to draw. I compiled
a cohesive costume design from the great ideas they gave me,
trying to work in as many different drawings as possible.
Then I made, pulled from thrift stores and altered, or borrowed
all the costumes per the children's designs. Unfortunately, my camera died before I could take pictures of
the actual production, but my friends and family offered to be
models.

None of the
pictures do justice to how much this dress shines.
